Study abroad is available at any age. In general, to study abroad means that that person receives an education at foreign country and period of this education may last from several weeks till several years.
Retrospective journey into the history
Such phenomenon as study abroad firstly appeared in 1923. Professor Raymond W. Kirkbride sent 8 students to study Paris, France. After it such practice became rather popular but mostly was used to improve language skills. In course of time the situation changed and the range of subjects also became bigger.
What to do?
In order to get the study abroad program, it is necessary to make the following things:
- choose the program which suits you perfectly
- get all necessary travel documents which include valid passport, visa and different medical certificates.
Then it is necessary to think about accommodation in the foreign country. Some universities provide accommodation services, like student residences or host families. But there are schools which don’t provide such facilities and you should take care about it by yourself.
It can be very interesting to study your favorite subject in unusual conditions.
It is for sure that language leant within the study abroad program will be more efficient and there are more chances to use this knowledge.
